Door to the Garden of Midnight

Door

This piece was named for the silver rectangle pendant that reminds me of a door.  I didn’t have that in mind when I sketched it out, sometimes things just unfold.  The pendant was inspired by the pink glass piece with aqua bubbles.  I echoed the bubbles by cutting out a few holes that wind their way to the top of the pendant.  A small, textured half-circle was added and the entire piece darkened.  For the necklace, I chose beads in similar colors – all darkly romantic, quiet and mysterious.

So, what does the garden of midnight look like?  Maybe half is filled with white flowers that glisten in the moonlight.  And the other half – flowers in deep, dark purples and blues that bring midnight to mind by day.
