This necklace started with the lavender button that I set in sterling silver. I gathered a little collection of four other items that related in look and feel – a small coin, an old key, a rhinestone heart, and a tiny lock that I made from silver and brass. They all loved each other immediately.
I wanted this to be a multi-strand necklace and planned the length of each strand and placement of beads carefully. Each strand is slightly shorter than the other. This gives a little bit of distinction to each strand but also allows them to be close enough to fall over each other in that slightly messy way that I think is so pretty. I used amethyst, crystal, glass, and fresh water pearl beads.
