Today, March 10th, is National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. In observance of this day, Karyn of The Fabulous Giver and Luvvie of Awesomely Luvvie came up with the idea of the Red Pump Project. The idea is a simple one – ask bloggers to Rock the Red Pump on their blogs to spread awareness and represent the strength and courage of women fighting HIV/AIDS or affected by the disease both directly and indirectly.
Reading their statistics that women represent 27% of all new AIDS diagnoses with African-American women accounting for 66% of that group, I was happy to help and feel proud to join ranks with hundreds of other bloggers who today will Rock the Red Pump. To learn more, visit The Red Pump Project.
