I got the idea for this necklace while I was in the car on the way back from Myrtle Beach. It just came to me except the idea was to use red, white, and then black African trade beads. When I got home and stated working on it, the black just seemed too harsh against the soft sweetness of the red and white, so I left them out. Their feelings are not hurt, they know they’ll get used in another piece.
I love how the colors in the necklace flow from the brightest red in the front, to softer and then softer reds, and then on to creamy whites, and finally to lengths of darkened handmade brass chain.
