OK, it wasn’t even a dusting. It was like 17 snowflakes. But still it counts as the first snowfall of the season. And around here, even a flurry is a big deal. Winter is starting to set in. The highest we will see this week is 43F. And the days are so very short.
I look forward to the first day of winter only because it means after that the days start to get longer again. And I love the longer days. But right now, winter is setting in and most of the leaves have fallen. The trees are beginning to show their bones. And hats and gloves and mittens and scarves are the order of the day.
A warm fire, a glass of wine, my sketchbook, and I’m good. Really good.
