Solving a Necklace Scale Problem

The two necklaces above are the “after” photos. Even though that’s not the order of the story, I wanted them up top. I made a necklace using the beads on the left and the pendant on the right. I remember questioning myself about the size of the pendant – was it too small to go with such chunky beads? And for whatever reason, at the time it felt right.

But after looking at it some more and trying it on, I changed my mind. I really liked the necklace design and the pendant too – just not together. So I used a bulkier Ethiopian Cross with the necklace. And I accented the angles and twig motifs of the pendant with steel links. I think I definitely made an improvement.

Here’s the before necklace. I think it was a good decision to rework things.
