I Wanted to be a Spiral

So, yesterday I wanted to make some spiral earrings – loose spirals. I must have tried 20 different times and my spirals came out looking terrible – either too tight or wonky. I can make tight spirals easily because the inner part of the spiral acts as a form to bend the outer part of the spiral against. Loose spirals have to be done more freeform or you need a jig, which I don’t have.

I was at the point of beginning to feel frustrated, which never helps any wire working project go better. I decided to stop trying to make loose spirals and just play around and ended up with these triangle earrings which I like. I keep detailed notes about how I make things like this so I can make them again later. I’m ready to move on to sterling and might do a bangle bracelet with a similar design.
